Steelman for Senate…In 2012?

With the announcement that Sarah Steelman will not seek the open U.S. Senate seat currently held by Kit Bond, many Missourians speculated that she would seek the 7th Congressional District post currently held by Roy Blunt. Not so, says her political fundraiser Jeff Layman.

So, what does Sarah’s political future hold? MCVPAC speculates a 2012 Senate run against Claire McCaskill.

Where’s Carnahan?

In the weeks following her expected announcement to run for the U.S. Senate, Robin Carnahan has been silent. We have not heard a word from her on her accomplishments, or lack thereof, as Secretary of State. We have not heard nary a peep on her views regarding the economy, Iran, abortion, gun rights, taxes, etc. We have not heard, nor do we expect, an explanation of her family’s lobbyist ties.

MCV-PAC wonders if this is a case, much as in Kay Barnes, of a big name with little substance. While Missouri needs elected officials who show leadership, Carnahan is nowhere to be found. It’s kind of like playing Where’s Waldo, only without the funny hat.
