The Arch City Chronicle is reporting that State Representative Curt Dougherty (D - Independence) is hosting a fundraiser in his Capitol office during spring break, going so far as to encourage lobbyists to visit his office and that, “I think you know where to find me, If you don’t call my office for directions.”

It is shocking to find an elected official brazenly ignoring the rules of the Missouri Ethics Commission. If he is so public about violating the law in this instance, one has to wonder what other laws he has broken.

And further, MCV-PAC would like to know if it is policy for the Arch City Chronicle to not present the party affiliation of elected officials in their reporting. The ‘D’ was conveniently omitted from the report. We will be watching to see if there is a ‘pattern’ of behavior with the Arch City Chronicle.
