Fee Office Fiasco – So Bad Even Democrats Are Furious

The method in which Nixon is awarding contracts for the lucrative fee office positions has become so tainted that even his fellow Democrats are crying foul.  Check out this article for the Kansas City Star:

Cap and Trade Effects NW Missouri

June 18th, 2009

The recent approval of a 12% rate increase for KCP&L is just the first hint of what our overbearing President and Democrat-run Congress are going to impose on us in the name of “saving the planet”. According to those involved in the rate negotiations, the increase, averaging $100 per year for the average customer, will “pay for environmental upgrades at its coal-fired power plants…the money will go directly toward pollution control equipment .”  Unfortunately, “Cap and Trade” legislation that is currently fast-tracking through Congress will impose a significantly higher additional cost not only for electricity, but every facet of our lives including heating, transportation, fuel, food, clothing, and housing.

Cap and Trade is the anti-global-warming concept that puts a CAP on the allowable emissions of “global warming pollutants” but then allows companies to TRADE (or sell) the balance of their unused allotment to companies that are at the limit of their allowed emissions. The ultimate result is that overall emissions don’t change, but the costs for some companies increase as they are forced to “buy permission”. This is the industrial version of Al Gore’s “carbon credits”, which was so lucrative for the “sellers” of nothing, who got the “producers” of everything to pay for something that is free.

To see how anti-global-warming Cap and Trade costs will impact you and your family, follow the link on the sidebar and calculate YOUR costs for this farcical homage to environmentalists, then contact congress to express your opinion.

St. Joe Doesn’t Want Government Healthcare

June 16th, 2009

Even with a loaded poll, readers of the St. Joseph News-Press say no to government run health care:

Do you support federal health care reform?

Yes. Things have to change.

41%

No. Keep government out.

58%

The reason MCVPAC feels this poll is biased?  The response for ‘Yes’ includes the statement ‘Things have to change’.  Most Americans will agree that things have to change, but they believe the federal government should stay out.  The poll that should have been conducted is:

Do you support government administered health care?

Yes

No

But no matter how you spin it, people want government out of their lives, especially their health care..

Questions About Montee

June 11th, 2009

If the ‘new’ license office appointments are based on a ‘point’ system devised by the Missouri Department of Revenue, why did it take 97 days from the closing of bids to name James Montee as the agent for the Lee’s Summit office?  If the appointments are based only on the merits of the Request for Proposal (RFP), then why the delay?  It couldn’t be that our Governor was waiting to name high profile Democrats to these offices when the State Legislature was out of session, could it?

Also, in the ‘Personnel Qualifications’ section of the RFP (see below), the offeror (James Montee in our case) is to list the amount of hours he will be present in the office.  This was added because Jay Nixon wanted to ensure that the agents were running the offices.  MCVPAC is interested to know how many hours James Montee will be in the Lee’s Summit office.  Surely a license office can’t be as lucrative as his multi-million dollar law firm.

Are You Kidding Me?

Are You Kidding Me?

From the Missouri Department of Revenue, “The Lee’s Summit License Office has been awarded to Lee’s Summit LLC (James Montee).  The license office will stay at its current location at 196-A Northwest Oldham Parkway in the Summit Shopping Center.”

Governor Jay Nixon is a liar.  Enough said.

Charges brought against three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense under the Bush administration have been dropped by the Obama Justice Department, FOX News has learned.
The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force — one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon.
The three black panthers, Minister King Samir Shabazz, Malik Zulu Shabazz and Jerry Jackson were charged in a civil complaint in the final days of the Bush administration with violating the voter rights act by using coercion, threats and intimidation. Shabazz allegedly held a nightstick or baton that prosecutors said he pointed at people and menacingly tapped it. Prosecutors also say he “supports racially motivated violence against non-blacks and Jews.”
The Obama administration won the case last month, but moved to dismiss the charges on May 15.

The complaint says the men hurled racial slurs at both blacks and whites.
A poll watcher who provided an affidavit to prosecutors in the case noted that Bartle Bull, who worked as a civil rights lawyer in the south in the 1960’s and is a former campaign manager for Robert Kennedy, said it was the most blatant form of voter intimidation he had ever seen.
In his affidavit, obtained by FOX News, Bull wrote “I watched the two uniformed men confront voters and attempt to intimidate voters. They were positioned in a location that forced every voter to pass in close proximity to them. The weapon was openly displayed and brandished in plain sight of voters.”
He also said they tried to “interfere with the work of other poll observers … whom the uniformed men apparently believed did not share their preferences politically,” noting that one of the panthers turned toward the white poll observers and said “you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.”
A spokesman for the Department of Justice told FOX News, “The Justice Department was successful in obtaining an injunction that prohibits the defendant who brandished a weapon outside a Philadelphia polling place from doing so again. Claims were dismissed against the other defendants based on a careful assessment of the facts and the law. The department is committed to the vigorous prosecution of those who intimidate, threaten or coerce anyone exercising his or her sacred right to vote.”
FOX News’ Eric Shawn contributed to this report.

Democracy is Dead, Long Live the King

June 2nd, 2009

Democracy is Dead, Long Live the King

In regards to the Obama’s date night visit to Broadway, actor Andre Holland of “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” said, “I’m nervous, excited, honored.  It’s like in Shakespearean times, when the king would come to the show.”  It’s a scary day for democracy when our President acts like a king.  It’s even scarier when the people treat him as one.
